- At first, you would require downloading an ISO file, which contains an image of the Windows 8.1 installation medium. Here, click on the Windows 8 install option and run the setup program. Now, you can enter your Windows 8 product key once you get the message to enter.
- In the next step, you can click on Next and then wait until the download starts. Once the process starts, you can quit the program to abandon the download. Navigate to the Microsoft web page and select the Install Windows 8.1 option. Once you click on this option, another setup program will be downloaded for Windows 8.1. You can run this file to download the Windows 8.1 ISO file.
- It is advised to start downloading at this point because by doing so, the product key request for the Windows 8.1 downloader will get skipped. Otherwise, you won’t be able to install Windows 8.1 OS in your multiple Windows 8 computers.
- Now, you can wait for the Windows 8.1 download to get completed. Once it is over, you can select the option to create a bootable flash drive directly. According to the Windows tech support, it is also advisable to use the ISO file option as you can use this easily with the Windows 7 USB Download Tool. This tool can be used to create as many bootable USB flash drives as you want.
