Many times after a new operating system has been installed, the chipset drivers for the motherboard of the computer/laptop haven't been reinstalled. If you have an Intel based chipset you will need to install the Intel Chipset drivers and if you are running an AMD system you will need to install them also. Doing this has been known to make these drivers appear when they are absent after an upgrade.
