What is AMD PSP 2.0 device?

The AMD Platform Security Processor (PSP), officially known as AMD Secure Technology, is a trusted execution environment subsystem incorporated since 2013 into AMD microprocessors. This subsystem is responsible for creating, monitoring and maintaining the security environment and its functions include managing boot processes, initializing various security related mechanisms and monitoring the system for any security breach event triggering an appropriate response. The AMD PSP 2.0 Device is closed source, which does cause some concern for backdoors as does its Intel counterpart TPM 2.0.

The PSP is similar to the Intel Management Engine for Intel processors

Will Windows 11 TPM 2.0 requirement be satisfied with PSP 2.0? Yes PSP serves the same function as Intel's Trusted Platform 2.0.

While in most cases drivers are don't require installation, some manufactures have driver packages that can be installed for full functionality of the PSP 2.0 Processor. They are downloadable below, but please visit the manufactures website first for updates.
