Unfortunately the USB is only for charging and playing MP3's from a USB stick on this stereo, no other function is possible. It is purely for charging a phone or accessing a USB drive with .mp3 files on it. To play MP3 files make sure the drive is formatted FAT32/FAT-EX, it will not read a USB driver formatted in the NTFS format.
