Most of the time when this deice is plugged in it should work, there are no drivers extra drivers required as they are included with modern Operating Systems.
Things to check if the card reader isn't working:
- This card reader is powered by the USB C port, make sure that the USB port you are using is good and that the battery on the laptop is good.
- If using on a phone make sure you have full access to resources plugged into the USB port, some USB ports are only for charging and no data is enabled.
If all else fails, return the device.
