This device doesn’t have any other drivers that are required for it to function. A couple of scenarios where it may not function (Assuming that it isn’t broken)
- The USB C port that it is plugged into doesn't have enough current to power the chip in the adapter, while this is rare it can happen so try another port.
- The computer/phone doesn't have the ability to use the device due to firmware/security lock downs (common on cheap Androids).
- The USB port is only for charging a device (pretty much only phones/tablets only)
- The USB port is using USB 1.1 technology and can't output video at that speed. USB 1.1 is at maximum 12 Megabits/per sec this may not be enough if you are trying for a high resolution.
- Conflicts with other graphics adapters shouldn't be ruled out either.
