Socket sTRX4 (SP3r3)

Socket sTRX4, also known as Socket SP3r3, is an AMD-designed LGA CPU socket supporting Zen 2-based Ryzen Threadripper processors, launched on November 25, 2019. It succeeds Socket TR4, being physically identical but electrically incompatible with both TR4 and AMD’s server Socket SP3. The TRX40 chipset, supporting 88 PCIe 4.0 lanes, enables enhanced connectivity. Unlike its predecessor, sTRX4 lacks built-in HD audio, relying on separate audio controllers. AMD offered long-term support, but only one generation of Threadripper CPUs used this socket.
