ASMedia ASM-105x SATA/USB 3.0 Firmware Update Installation
⚠️ Warning: Firmware updates are intended for compatible ASMedia ASM105x/ASM115x USB-to-SATA bridge controllers only. Using the wrong firmware can cause the enclosure or adapter to stop working. Verify your chipset before updating.
- Backup your data and disconnect any other USB storage devices. Connect the ASMedia USB-to-SATA adapter or enclosure directly to your computer using a USB 3.0 port.
- Extract the firmware package asmedia-105x_100316_00_03_13.zip and locate the included firmware update utility MPTool.exe
- Run the firmware update tool as Administrator. The program should detect the connected ASMedia controller and display the current firmware information.
- Select the correct firmware file 100316_00_03_13.bin and start the update process. Do not disconnect power or USB during flashing.
- When the update completes, restart your computer, reconnect the device, and verify the new firmware version using the update utility.
Tip: If the firmware tool does not detect the device, try a different USB port, remove any connected drive from the enclosure, or confirm the controller is actually an ASM105x-compatible model before flashing.
