The USB Port you have plugged into is USB 3.0 speed, not all USB C Ports are USB 3.0+ standard
If this is being used on a phone/tablet make sure the USB C port isn't locked down by the system.
Some USB C port are charging only, no data is on the port.
If you plug this into a Thunderbolt USB C port, the hub will only provide 3.0 speed on the HUB ports.
