The Avance Logic ALC201 (AC'97) is an AC'97-compliant audio codec developed during the transition from Avance Logic to Realtek. It was widely integrated into desktop motherboards and notebook computers, providing stereo audio playback, microphone input, line-in support, and basic multimedia features. Compatible with Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Linux, the ALC201 required chipset-specific AC'97 drivers together with the appropriate Realtek audio driver for full operation.
