Fire OS is Amazon’s custom operating system used on Fire TV devices, Fire tablets, and smart displays. Built on a modified version of Android, it delivers a streamlined interface focused on media streaming, apps, and Alexa integration. Fire OS supports popular services like Netflix, Prime Video, and various third-party apps through the Amazon Appstore. However, Amazon is gradually moving away from Fire OS in favor of its newer platform, Vega OS. Vega OS is designed to reduce reliance on Android and provide greater control over performance, security, and ecosystem integration across future Amazon devices.
