🧰 What You’ll Need

• USB flash drive (at least 1GB, formatted as FAT32 or exFAT)
• Internet-connected PC
• Official PS4 update file

📥 Step 1: Download the Update File

1. On your PC, go to the official Sony PlayStation website.
2. Download the PS4 system software update file.
   • File name must be: PS4UPDATE.PUP

📁 Step 2: Prepare the USB Drive

1. Insert your USB drive into your PC.
2. Create this folder structure exactly:

USB Drive
└── PS4
    └── UPDATE

3. Place the downloaded file inside the UPDATE folder.

Final path should look like:

X:\PS4\UPDATE\PS4UPDATE.PUP

🔌 Step 3: Install the Update on PS4

Method A: From Safe Mode (Recommended)

1. Completely turn off your PS4 (not Rest Mode).
2. Press and hold the power button until you hear a second beep (about 7 seconds).
3. Connect your controller using a USB cable and press the PS button.
