Microsoft DirectX 12 is an offline installer to update Windows computers with a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video on Windows. This software can be downloaded below for various versions of Windows including Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 and Windows 7. This software package will upgrade the graphics and performance of games and other software that relies on the DirectX platform.
To Install simply download the directx12.exe file below and save to a location where you can easily run the package. If you are going to run the package on another computer the copy the directx12.exe to a USB drive and run the .exe file on that computer as an administrator to install the upgrade.
If you are met with a message that says Directx 12 is not supported on your system, consider that you hardware may not be compatible with DirectX 12, also if you system hasn't been updated to a compatible version of Windows as mentioned above you will not be able to install it.
