For some strange reason, drivers for Nvidia NVS Quadro 110M are not always installed on Dell and other bigger name Laptop computer when upgrading to Windows 8 onwards.
When searching for the driver on Nvidia website they only have drivers for Windows Vista and 7, plus we are told the drivers are not suited to these devices:
- Dell Latitude notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
- HP Compaq notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
- Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
- Any notebook that is launched after the release date of this driver
The solution for this is an old one, using driver from 2010 on Windows 10 and 8.1 that will let you have your native resolution again.
The best success has been from the drivers below with the version 8.17.12.5947 actual made for Windows 7. This is from Microsoft, and for some reason it has been removed from their update catalogue.
Please let us know of your success.
Download the cab file that is required, extract the cab file using 7zip or Windows bulit-in extraction tool.
Go to Device manager, Select Display adapters right click on Basic VGA adapter (or what ever Windows is calling it on your system) and go update driver. You will have to manually browse to the extracted cab file to find the driver using have disk.
