The non-polar IEC C8 connector is a two-pin AC power inlet defined by the IEC 60320 standard and commonly called a “figure-8” or “shotgun” connector. Unlike the polarized C7/C8 pair with a flat and a square side, the non-polar version is symmetrical, allowing the matching C7 cord to be inserted in either orientation. It is typically rated for 2.5 A at up to 250 V and is widely used on small appliances and electronics such as radios, DVD players, game consoles, and laptop power bricks.
