In some models there is a Western Digital WD10EACS 1TB SATA Hard Driver that has a 16MB Cache, others may have a Hitachi installed.

These drives were problematic when new, and were prone to failure back in 2007.

No additional software or drivers are required to this drive mounted.
This drive never came with an eSATA cable you will need to buy one.
You need to use the DC Adapter that came with the drive.
