The USB serves up to 3 purposes depending on the model.
- Power to the magicJack device via a USB port or the included power adapter.
- A mass storage device with software for dialing on the computer.
- Configuration for the magicJack.
No additional drivers are required for new models, if you find website offering drivers other than the exception below, be careful they could have malware.
Exception: Old original USB devices would load on the system appearing to be a CDROM device, sometimes these devices would not work for what ever reason and the device driver for CDROM drives may need to be installed. The driver for Windows 7 64bit is below, but the chances of this needing to be installed are very slim, as it is included with Windows.
