xD-Picture Card Type M

The xD-Picture Card Type M is a variant of the xD memory card format introduced to increase storage capacity using Multi-Level Cell (MLC) technology. Type M cards offered capacities up to 2 GB, making them suitable for storing larger photo and video files in digital cameras from Olympus and Fujifilm. However, this came with slower read and write speeds compared to the earlier Type H cards. While once a cost-effective option, Type M cards are now considered obsolete but remain necessary for older cameras.
