ATI EGA Wonder Series 1 Graphics Drivers

The ATI EGA Wonder Series 1 was a pioneering lineup of graphics cards introduced by ATI Technologies, a now-defunct Canadian company later acquired by AMD. Launched in the mid-1980s, these cards aimed to augment the graphical capabilities of IBM-compatible computers equipped with Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) displays. Offering enhanced resolution and color depth compared to standard EGA cards, the EGA Wonder Series 1 facilitated superior graphics rendering for gaming, productivity, and multimedia applications of that era. As a trailblazer in graphics technology, the EGA Wonder Series 1 contributed significantly to the evolution of personal computing, laying the groundwork for future advancements in graphics hardware.

Notes:

  • OFF = OPEN, ON = CLOSED
  • Switches 5 and 6 on a PC or XT motherboard must be set to ON.
  • "MultiSync" monitors at this time tended to support 15-31.5kHz (NOT 31.5 and up), and used a 9-pin digital connector.
  • 25kHz monitor requires Jumper P8 set to connect pins 2 & 3 (not available on VIP).
  • Compaq Internal Monitor requires an "optional module" (no longer available).
  • IBM Analog monitor support is only available on the VIP
