OnLive

OnLive Logo

OnLive was a pioneering cloud gaming platform launched in 2010 that allowed users to play high-end video games on low-powered devices by streaming gameplay over the internet. Instead of running games locally, OnLive processed everything on remote servers and delivered video to the user in real time. It worked on PCs, Macs, TVs, and even tablets. Despite innovative technology, it struggled with latency, internet limitations, and financial issues. The service shut down in 2015, but it helped pave the way for modern cloud gaming platforms like Google Stadia and NVIDIA GeForce Now. All Patents were sold to Sony Interactive Entertainment.
