
Unisoc, formerly Spreadtrum Communications, is a Chinese fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Shanghai. It designs chipsets for mobile phones, supporting standards like GSM, TD-SCDMA, W-CDMA, and TD-LTE. Spreadtrum was acquired by Tsinghua Unigroup in 2013 and merged with RDA Microelectronics in 2014. Renamed Unisoc in 2018, the company has expanded into 5G platforms and high-end smartphones, with global R&D and support centers in Asia, the U.S., and Europe.
