macOS Sequoia (version 15) is the twenty-first and latest major release of Apple's macOS operating system, succeeding macOS Sonoma. Announced at WWDC 2024 on June 10, 2024, it continues Apple's tradition of naming macOS versions after iconic California landmarks, with this version named after Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The first developer beta was released on June 10, 2024, followed by the first public beta on July 15, 2024, and the second public beta on July 23, 2024. The official release of macOS Sequoia occurred on September 16, 2024.
