This driver is for Realtek PCIe GBE 2.5G Family Controller that allows super fast Ethernet connections over a compatible 2.5G network. If you connect to a router or switch that only has 10/100/1000 ports you will only be able to connect at that speed. So, don’t update drivers until you check that you have these requirements first. Drivers are also available on Realtek’s website, there have been no updates to the drivers for a number of years as of 2021.
