YPbPr (Component video)

YPbPr (Component video)

YPbPr, commonly known as component video, is an analog video format used to transmit high-quality images by separating the signal into three components: Y (luminance), Pb (blue minus luminance), and Pr (red minus luminance). This separation reduces color interference and provides sharper detail compared to composite or S-video. YPbPr supports resolutions up to 1080p, making it popular for DVD players, game consoles, and HDTVs before HDMI became standard. Despite being analog, it delivers excellent image clarity for older high-definition equipment.
