LGA 1155 (Socket H2) is used for Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs, replacing LGA 1156. It has 1155 pins in a 40×40 array with a central void and omitted pins. While not compatible with LGA 1156 CPUs, both sockets share cooler compatibility. LGA 1155 introduced early support for Secure Boot on some boards, marking a step forward in platform security and UEFI adoption for Intel systems.
