The Sabrent USB 2.0 To Serial (9-PIN) DB-9 RS-232 cable is to interface older serial devices with modern operating systems. Drivers of the manufactures site only cover Operating Systems back to Windows 7 and macOS 10.9 but the cable can be used on much older devices too, so down the bottom there is older drivers that can be used on 20 year plus year old computers. This cable has the Prolific Chipset buitin, some of the cables have a FTDI chipset, for those driver look here: FTDI RS232 Drivers
