The ASMedia ASM1142 is a PCI Express to USB 3.1 controller that provides two USB 3.1 Type-A ports. The ASM1142 supports the latest USB 3.1 specification, providing a maximum transfer rate of up to 10 Gbps, which is twice as fast as USB 3.0. It also supports USB Power Delivery (PD), which allows devices to negotiate higher power output for faster charging or powering of connected devices.
